History and origins

The true history of Tiramisù begins in Treviso

Historical documents, first-hand accounts and archive research confirm the Treviso origins of the dessert, later certified for restaurants in the nineteen-seventies at the Le Beccherie restaurant.

Its name comes from the Venetian dialect, «tiramesù», a nourishing, restoring dessert that went from home kitchens to restaurant tables and then around the world, without ever losing the simplicity of the ingredients that made it famous.
